Humor Writer of the Month: Kim Reynolds

Blogger Kim Reynolds, a “happily married, midlife mom of five fabulous kids” from Fort Wayne, Indiana, won Erma’s Got Talent: The Stand-Up Auditions with a funny set about the sandwich generation.

She enjoys finding humor in everyday, ordinary life and believes laughter is the best medicine. “I strive to find the funny in even the darkest of times (when your phone starts ringing in the middle of your dad’s eulogy, you have to have a sense of humor) and live up to standards set by the great queens of comedy like Erma Bombeck and Jeanne Robertson,” she says.

Kim comes from "a family of funny storytellers," but she is not a professional comic. She’s a caregiver and educator who offers seminars for people caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia.

"I had my very first taste of stand-up at the Erma Bombeck conference in 2014, although I must admit I had done a few tight sets at the nail salon and the scrapbook store," she says.

She will perform during Stand-Up Comedy Night at the Oct. 20-22 Erma Bombeck Writers' Workshop. Check out her blog at kimscrazylife.com.
