Julie Vick: Humor Writer of the Month

Julie Vick, a Colorado humor writer, has written for New Yorker Daily Shouts, Parents, Real Simple, The Washington Post and McSweeney’s Internet Tendency.

Her funny tweets have been featured in roundups for The Huffington Post and Distractify, and one of her tweets appeared in a print edition of In Touch Weekly.

Julie’s debut book, Babies Don’t Make Small Talk (So Why Should I?) releases from Countryman Press this month and has received advance praise from Publisher’s Weekly: “This will be an invaluable resource for introverts about to become parents, though anyone with kids will appreciate Vick’s perspective on the absurdity of parenthood.”

Julie, an English Instructor at the University of Colorado Denver, calls her book “perfect reading for the new parent hiding in the bathroom in order to get some alone time.”
