The Chat Bar
By Janie Emaus
We gathered in the Chat Bar,
Words were moving fast,
I saw a friend, went to type,
And they went scrolling past.
Many names I knew flew by,
From all around the globe.
Sitting in our cozy homes,
In pajamas and a robe.
The speakers were tremendous.
Ah, Steve’s moving voice.
So many workshops.
Too hard to make a choice.
I sat in my cushy chair,
And didn’t wear a mask,
My meals arrived right on time,
With my drink in a flask.
Crowdcast was a happy place.
Laughs sprouting like a weed.
And in these Pandemic times.
It filled our growing need.
I went to bed with stories,
Threading through the laughter.
All that information,
Still gathers, four weeks after.
The weekend was my highlight,
As I hope it was for you.
See you all at the Marriot bar,
Come March 2022!
Thank you Teri, Pat, Nancy, Steve, the keynote speakers and all the workshop presenters who made this virtual event happen!
