Who's Publishing What: Relatively Painless

Award-winning playwright and humorist Dylan Brody “delivers a family so specific that we fear we trespass on their intimacy” in his newest book, Relatively Painless, now available for pre-orders.

New York Times’ bestselling author Jenny Lawson offers advance praise: “My only complaint is that I wanted more, which is a good complaint to have. It made me laugh and cry and then laugh again and then pee and then cry. Lots of fluids lost. But in a good way. A book to make you appreciate the tragically funny and beautiful horror of family.”

Brody has written six other books and produced six CDs. His full-length, award-winning, stand up-style story-telling special, Dylan Brody’s Driving Hollywood, currently streams on both Amazon Prime and NextUp Comedy.com. For three years running, best-selling author and humorist David Sedaris invited Brody to share his stages when touring the West Coast.

His latest creative project? The Corona Dialogues, a timely web comedic family drama series based on characters from Relatively Painless and featuring actresses Kate Orsini and Bonnie Hunt. It’s received Best Web Series laurels from the Madras Independent Film Festival and been honored by IndieFEST and Independent Shorts Awards.

A lot of us are trying things for the first time — baking bread, cleaning baseboards, flossing every day, cutting and coloring our own hair. Many of us are looking in our bathroom mirrors more than we ever have in our lives. And it ain’t pretty.
