What will be the new normal?
Let us play a little game:
What will never be the same?
When we're back in our community
Developing our herd immunity,
When our lives are rearranged,
Many things forever changed.
We'll struggle with that sense of doom,
We'll all be quite adept at Zoom.
We'll be wary of crowds and sneezes,
Handshakes, hugs, coughs and wheezes.
We'll relearn how to be alone,
While unattached to our phone.
We might wear masks for quite some time,
And hold on tight to every dime.
Sports, movies, diners, plays,
We'll go back slowly, phase by phase.
Back to the hairdresser and nail salon,
But our discomfort will not be gone.
For gifts we'll give out TP rolls.
We'll strive to realign our goals.
We'll feel a little less insane,
But hesitate to take a plane.
Certainly we'll be less bored,
But no doubt be inclined to hoard.
We'll relearn to enjoy small pleasures,
And treat families and friends like treasures.
