The Worrywart's Prayer Book

Do you obsess about everything from global warming and bridge collapses to wrinkles, failure and the return of polyester? And now are you biting your nails (keep your hands away from your face) because of COVID-19?

The second edition of Allia Zobel Nolan's The Worrywart's Prayer Book can help you cope. Written before the coronavirus pandemic to address the general fears the author had on a daily basis, the book uses anecdotal stories, Scripture, inspirational quotations, humor and personalized entreaties to demonstrate how the Bible, prayer and faith "can help people of all ages learn to get a grip and not let worry drag them into a round robin of fear," the author says.

"We'd all like to stop worrying right away," says Zobel Nolan. But, like any addiction, she says, it's an ongoing battle. "Like any faith-building regimen," she says, "you can't do it once, then forget it and expect results, especially given the situation we are in at the moment. It takes dedication, and I hope my book can help in some small way."

Zobel Nolan is an internationally-published author of over 150 traditionally published children's and adult trade titles. Her books reflect her two main passions, God and cats, and include such varied titles as Cat Confessions: A Kitty Come Clean Tell All Book, Whatever Is Lovely: a 90-Day Devotional and Journal, and What I Like About You: A Book About Acceptance. She lives and worries, with her husband, Desmond, and their two feline children, Nolan Nolan and Colleen Fiona Shannon Nolan. In 2018, she collaborated with the Erma Bombeck Writers' Workshop on the humor anthology,Laugh Out Loud: 40 Women Humorists Celebrate Then andNowBefore We Forget.

Scrubbing down the inside of an exhaust pipe would have been more pleasurable. Waiting in line at the DMV can last almost longer than it would take to teach a bottlenose dolphin how to drive (which I suppose, would involve logi ...
