THE conference for humor writers

The Writer magazine has named the University of Dayton's Erma Bombeck Writers' Workshop the best writing conference in Ohio and "THE conference for humor writers."

It's "incredibly popular; the event regularly sells out the same day registration opens," the magazine editors write in the February issue.

Readers selected the Erma workshop for the recognition.

The next workshop is April 2-4, 2020. Registration is expected to open the first week in December. Faculty proposals are being accepted until April 5.

The 2020 Erma Bombeck Writing Competition will open Dec. 2, 2019, with entries accepted until Jan. 7, 2020. Applications for the workshop's residency for emerging humor writers - A Hotel Room of One's Own: The Erma Bombeck | Anna Lefler Humorist-in-Residence Program - will be accepted Sept. 3-24, 2019.
