Dayton Engineer

Department Updates!

By Devon Florczak

Beginning July 1:

The Electro-Optics Program will officially become the Department of Electro-Optics and Photonics.  Dr. Partha Banerjee will be transitioning from Program Director to Department Chair.  Congratulations to the faculty and staff in Electro-Optics and Photonics for their work putting together a very compelling case to elevate the Program to a Department.

The Department of Engineering Technology and the Department of Engineering Management and Systems will officially merge into the Department of Engineering Management, Systems, and Technology (EMST).   Professor Scott Schneider will transition from Chair of Engineering Technology to Chair of EMST, and Dr. Ed Mykytka will also transition from Chair of Engineering Management and Systems to Graduate Program Coordinator for EMST. Congratulations to the faculty and staff of both departments for what has been a model of collaboration in the establishment of the new department!
