Dayton Law Number One In The Country In Bar Passage Improvement

The University of Dayton School of Law saw the biggest improvement in bar passage rate in the country.

UDSL was listed as number one in a preLaw Magazine article in the Spring 2020 issue that used numbers from the American Bar Association.

The law school had a bar passage rate of 83.8% in 2019, a 24.3% increase from the previous year.

The rising bar passage rate comes after UDSL made a host of changes under Dean Andrew Strauss to better prepare students for the bar exam. The improvements include increased credit hours for several foundational courses tested on the bar, additional assessments for each class so students see where they need improvement, an additional two required academic support courses and a strengthened final semester bar course that uses letter grades, rather than pass/fail.
