Deborah Platt Majoras Delivered 2015 Commencement Address
Majoras heads up a legal department consisting of nearly 600 global lawyers and other professionals. She is responsible for the scope of legal and government relations functions for all of Procter & Gamble, and is a member of the company’s Global Leadership Council. She served as Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission from 2004-2008. Prior to that, she served as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, and as a partner at Jones Day.
"It is an honor to have Deborah Majoras speak to our graduates," University of Dayton School of Law Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Staci P. Rucker said. "We look forward to Ms. Majoras sharing her views on leadership, especially from her time as Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission and now as Chief Legal Officer at Proctor and Gamble, with our students."
Majoras also serves on the Board of Directors of Valero Energy Corporation. Her outside activities include serving on the Boards of The Christ Hospital Health Network, the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, Cincinnati Legal Aid Society, Westminster College, and as President for the Association of General Counsel. The National Law Journal named Majoras to its 2014 list of 50 Outstanding General Counsel, and she received Inside Counsel’s Mary Ann Hynes Pioneer Award.
