Previous Transfer Student Now Introduce Other Future Transfer And First-Year Students to the SBA

Every student is unique as is their personal higher education journey. For some students attending the University of Dayton, their journey possibly started as a transfer from a community college or another university. As a Catholic and Marianist institution, the School of Business Administration at the University of Dayton is committed to helping every student succeed, regardless of where the college journey began.

William Bronsil is one of the many School of Business Administrations’ transfer success stories. A current senior (2023) majoring in marketing with double minors in finance and insight selling, William chose to transfer to UD for its unique focus on real-life business experience. Bronsil explained that “UD offered me so many opportunities for experiential learning and I feel like I have gained real-world experience without leaving the classroom”.

Originally from Cincinnati, OH Bronsil transferred to the University of Dayton in 2020 during the first semester of his sophomore year and worked closely with the Mittelstaedt Center prior to the start of his classes at UD.  The John D. Mittelstaedt Center for Academic Advising and Business Student Success works with incoming SBA transfer students to determine which classes will count for their UD program and create a schedule for them prior to their first semester. They also have an academic advisor that works specifically with transfer students and helps them navigate all things UD.

Bronsil said the advisors guided him through an achievable path to finish his degree in four years while also allowing him to be involved in on-campus activities, both very important factors to Bronsil.  While at UD he participated in such student organizations as the Davis Center for Portfolio Management, Pi Sigma Epsilon professional selling fraternity, Write Place peer writing consulting, and Men’s Club Soccer.

His favorite class, Consumer Behavior and Marketing Analytics, taught Bronsil to “understand how to connect with my customers as well as understand how to interpret data effectively.”  Though Bronsil admits that the SBA program is challenging, he credits it for preparing him for two separate sales internships he attained while at UD.

Currently, during his senior year, Bronsil also joined the School of Business Administration Dean’s Ambassador program, a position that lets him introduce possible future transfer students to the SBA.

Allie Ellison, Associate Director Recruiting Initiatives and organizer of the Dean’s Ambassadors, appreciates Bronsil’s unique transfer experience in the program; “The School of Business Administration’s students have a "yes" mindset when it comes to taking on new challenges, stepping into leadership roles, taking advantage of real-world avenues to further develop their business skills and supporting one another through that unique UD community value. As a Dean's Ambassador, Will Bronsil goes above and beyond in all these aspects for our prospective student visitors. It is hard not to get excited about the future when Will shares stories about his UD journey from his assignments in the classroom to his involvement in student organizations. He goes beyond just meeting with our prospective students. He learns about their interests, answers their questions, and even calms their nervousness about the college search process.”

Upon graduating from UD in 2023, Bronsil plans to proceed with his education by attending Graduate School in pursuit of an MBA.
