University of Dayton Science Center pendulum swinging again after restoration and repairs
A University of Dayton campus landmark since 1959, the Foucault pendulum in Sherman Hall is swinging again after several rounds of repairs in recent years. After decades of wear and tear, and a more recent alignment issue in 2020, faculty and staff restored the pendulum to working order during the summer.

The National Institutes of Health awarded University of Dayton geneticists Amit Singh and Madhuri Kango-Singh a five-year, $1.65 million grant to study how genes regulate three-dimensional patterning and growth during early eye development to understand the genetic basis of childhood retinal diseases and birth defects in the human eye.

HSI names four part-time directors for main areas in new strategic plan

The University of Dayton’s Hanley Sustainability Institute designated four accomplished leaders to direct the four key areas of HSI’s new strategic plan. Faculty members Erin Gibbemeyer, Zach Piso, Andrew Chiasson and Glenna Jennings will work part-time with HSI and each lead an identified initiative and its associated goals. HSI Executive Director Ben McCall recently announced the appointments.
