Fifth House Ensemble: Luna de Cuernos

“...vibrant, full of expression...and mystery.” – ChicagoMusic

Thursday, Feb. 7, 7:30 p.m.

Sears Recital Hall

Inspired by a Puerto Rican folktale (the title translates as “horned moon”), Fifth House celebrates the power of community in this multimedia program. A collaborative ensemble based in Chicago, Fifth House has worked for over a decade on innovative programming and community collaborations. Luna de Cuernos is an example of both, and features the ensemble’s wind quintet, drawn from the group’s membership of nearly dozen musicians and composers.

Music is joined here with lively video and narration to convey the story of an urban garden threatened by mysterious forces. The production features the graphic work of illustrator and designer Sarah Becan. Co-presented by the Graul Chair for Arts and Languages.
