Also active as a composer, Baum has been awarded a 2014 Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship and selected as a 2014-15 Norman Stevens Fellow during her MacDowell Colony residency. The leader of several ensembles, Baum has been praised for her “great blending of voices in the collective sound of the ensemble” (AllAbout-Jazz.com).
