From their instrumentation to their repertoire, Trio Virado has a distinctive and distinguished sound. Each of the members, flutist Amy Porter, violist Jaime Amador and guitarist João Luiz, is widely sought after for their performances on recordings and the concert stage. Hailing from the United States (Porter), Puerto Rico (Amador) and Brazil (Luiz), their work as a trio allows them to pursue a warm, melodic sound with works by such diverse composers as Maurice Ravel, Sérgio Assad, and Francesco Molino. Their performances have been described as “unfailingly strong, expressive, and imaginative” (American Record Guide).  Jointly, Trio Virado joyfully redefines the chamber music experience as an expansive adventure to new worlds.
