Institute for Pastoral Initiatives

Welcome to the Forum for Young Catechetical Leaders

The FYCL is a two-year program for both undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Dayton

The FYCL is sponsored by the Institute for Pastoral Initiatives, the Center for Catholic Education (Lelanne Program), the Center for Christian Leadership, Campus Ministry and supported by the Marianist Community, the School of Education, and the Department of Religious Studies.

The program is coordinated by Sister Angela Ann Zukowski, MHSH, D. Min, (Director of the Institute for Pastoral Initiatives and Professor in the Department of Religious Studies) and Susan Ferguson (The Center for Catholic Education).

The instructors are either associated with the University of Dayton or are invited from Diocesan, regional and national religious education and youth ministry offices from throughout the USA. These outstanding catechists and catechetical leaders share their expertise and experience, as well as, mentor our UD students for their future role in the field of catechesis.

The FYLC is housed within the Institute for Pastoral Initiatives, located in Alumni Hall.
