Energy GPA

The Energy GPA program provides students in University-owned student neighborhood houses with a grade of their monthly energy use. Monthly "report cards" include electricity and gas usage and a monthly tip for energy savings. Grades are determined by comparing a house's usage against an average of that house's previous three years of energy-use data.  A selected house or houses that show the best savings each month are awarded "Energy Champion" T-shirts. With over 400 houses in our student neighborhood, the Energy GPA program will be a key way in which we engage students in lowering UD's overall carbon footprint.

The Energy GPA program is supported through the work of Housing and Residence Life, the School of Engineering's Center for Energy Informatics, Facilities Management, and the Hanley Sustainability Institute. This program was originally offered previously under the "Green Report Card" program and was relaunched in the fall of 2017.
