Sustainable commuting options
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), transportation accounts for roughly 29% of all U.S. emissions, making it the single largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions in the country. The University of Dayton offers many unique transportation options to get to, from and around Dayton that are more sustainable than driving a single-occupancy vehicle. Many of these options may be more convenient and cheaper as well. Find which of the modalities below is the best fit for you. These modes of transportation are available to all students, staff and faculty.

The University of Dayton provides on campus shuttle services during the fall and spring semesters. The UD shuttle is offered 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Pick-up and drop-off locations include Irving Commons, Kettering Labs, Roesch Library and Fitz/Caldwell. Learn more

Catch a free ride on The FLYER every 10 minutes. This Dayton RTA bus runsMonday through Saturday all along Brown Street. The city also offers a plethora of other routes for a small fee to get around the city. Track buses and plan trips with the RTA website or app. Learn more

The City of Dayton has partnered with Spin to bring the electric scooters to students and Dayton residents. The main campus is largely a No Ride Zone, however, these zippy scooters are a great way to get around town quickly. Learn more

Bikes can be rented from the RecPlex equipment desk. Bikes can be rented for free for the day, or, for a small fee, can be rented on a weekly or semesterly basis. Explore the many bike paths Dayton is known for with a RecBike. Learn more

The University has several EV charging stations on campus including options in lots B and C, as well as St. Joseph Hall and the Adele Center. Learn more
