Registration and Cancellation

You must contact us no later than September 1, 2017 to cancel your registration and receive a refund for SPHR17. There will be a $50 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations made after September 1, 2017. Register now.

Conference Hotels

We are offering conference group rates for SPHR17:


We will be providing shuttle buses for participants staying at the conference hotels.

All conference participants who are driving can park in the designated area for our conference. Signs will be available to usher you in the right direction.

Navigating the conference venue

Please enter the building from the main entrance behind the international flags. HRC staff and conference volunteers will welcome you and also be there to assist you throughout the conference.

A customized map for our conference will be available in the program booklet highlighting the spaces we will be using including associated events. Directional signs will be displayed at the hotels and the conference venue to guide you to the classrooms. Most of the events will be taking place in spaces on the first and second floor of the building.

Classroom Facilities

Our classrooms are equipped with projectors, computers, screens, whiteboards, built-in sound system, and all AV equipment (USB slots, DVDs, cords, etc.) We ask participants to bring their personal Apple cables and adapters.

Printing and Wireless Internet Connection


Given that the center is not located in the conference venue, we are unable to accommodate printing requests for presentations. We ask participants to bring their personal copies and handouts.


Wireless Internet connection is available free of charge for all registered conference participants throughout the duration of the conference. You will find your wifi pass inside your nametag.

Food and Conference Meals

During the registration process, please indicate your dietary restrictions and we will plan accordingly to accommodate your needs. You will find your dietary preference card inside your nametag. The registration packages include access to all conference events, materials, and all meals (November 8-10, 2017).

Aligning with the University's mission as a fair trade and sustainable institution, the conference's menu will consist of local and fair trade sourced ingredients. 

Gender-Neutral Bathrooms

The conference venue includes two single-occupant bathrooms which will be identified for your convenience on the map of the printed program.

Breastfeeding and Lactation Room

The conference venue includes two breastfeeding and lactation rooms. Each access-controlled room includes the following amenities: chair, table, outlet, and a refrigerator. Please see our staff to check out a visitor card. The lactation rooms will be identified for your convenience on the map in the printed program.

Child Care

The University of Dayton recognizes that children are a valued part of our campus community and has an obligation to its students, faculty, staff, and visitors to conduct its operations and maintain its facilities in a manner consistent with its mission as a Catholic and Marianist institution of higher education.

Please contact us at hrc@udayton.edu if you plan on bringing your child(ren) to SPHR17 in order to better accommodate your needs during your visit.

Book Display / Marketplace

We are providing space for authors to display their books throughout the conference at no cost. If you are planning on having your publications on display, please contact your publisher directly and send your display copies and handouts to the HRC mailing address by November 1, 2017:
