Partnership with HIAS Israel

Through a partnership between the Human Rights Center and HIAS-Israel, students will have the opportunity to join and learn from HIAS-Israel’s team of lawyers, experts, and local partners, working on topics including, international comparative legal research, refugee case law research, gender and law research, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), and state obligations under international treaties.

HIAS is an international organization working for over one hundred years to protect refugees and asylum seekers who have been forced to flee their homelands. Today HIAS works across 16 countries and five continents and has assisted more than 4.5 million refugees rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.

HIAS Israel assists refugees and asylum seekers seeking protection in Israel, works with civil society organizations, the private sector and governmental bodies to improve the asylum system in Israel, and represents asylum seekers through legal proceedings. It also assists Jewish immigrants to Israel through a scholarship program.
