I am from Omaha, Nebraska and my major is Human Rights Studies with a minor in Political Science. I plan to graduate in May of 2019. I have worked on staff for leadership workshops, lead retreats, and I am going to El Salvador in the beginning of January to study the current situation in the post-war country. With this trip to D.C., I am looking for a clearer view of politics all together. I want to find out if my interests in getting an internship or even a job are really what I would like to do and this trip seems like the perfect opportunity for that.

2018 CohortJunior, Adolescent to Young Adult Education
and History majors, Economics minor

I am a junior Education and History major from Chicago. I am currently writing an honors thesis dealing with education policy and other education issues such as school choice vouchers, common core, and charter schools. I also was the Vice President of Alpha Phi Omega, which is a service fraternity. Service has been a big part of my life, and I wish to continue a life dedicated to service as a public servant. Studying abroad in Ireland last summer allowed me to have a new perspective on the world, which I hope to continue to evolve in D.C. as an intern. I am looking for an internship for this summer dealing with education policy or just education research in general. After I graduate, I am looking into grad school for education policy and a job as an education policy researcher.

This upcoming spring semester, I'll be interning with a Norwicki and Vonderwell, a local family law firm in downtown Dayton.
