Affordability of the MPA Program

The University of Dayton MPA program is cost competitive with other MPA programs in Ohio and the region. With 2019-2020 tuition at $665 per semester hour, the 39-hour program tuition cost is $25,935. This tuition is lower than the rate for other University of Dayton Master’s degrees and essentially matches the in-state cost at nearby public institutions.

Graduate Assistantships

The Department of Political Science funds several graduate assistant (GA) positions. GAs perform research and administrative tasks for department faculty. Each graduate assistant receives full tuition remission plus a stipend. An assistantship, once granted, is renewable for a second year. Interested candidates should contact the MPA Program Director to inquire about openings and to submit a cover letter and resume for consideration. While the department admits new students on a rolling basis, students wishing to obtain a GA position should apply as early as possible.

Other college and university offices and centers may also offer GA opportunities to MPA students. If interested, contact these offices directly or attend the GA graduate student fair in the early part of the spring semester.
