Celebration of the Arts

Welcome to the String Performance Institute

The String Performance Institute (StPI) is a five-day program presented each summer for students in grades 8 through 12 who play harp, violin, viola, cello and double bass. All activities are held on the historic UD main campus, and instruction is provided by Department of Music faculty, along with professional guest artists from Dayton-area organizations including the Dayton Philharmonic and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, among others.

The String Performance Institute will return in 2025.
