Music Scholarship Opportunities

The University of Dayton recognizes the talent of students who contribute to our music community with Music Talent Scholarships. Incoming first year, full-time students who complete an audition are eligible for the awards.

  • Students accepted as majors into the department of music can receive a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500 per year for four years). This award is renewable each year by remaining enrolled in a music program and participating in ensembles as assigned by the department of music.
  • Students enrolled in majors outside the department of music can receive a $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per year for four years). This award is renewable each year by participating in an ensemble assigned by the department of music.

Students who audition will automatically be considered for any additional music scholarships available. These are funded through the generosity of donors and are limited in availability.

How to apply for a music scholarship:

As a Catholic, Marianist university, we’re committed to making a UD education affordable and accessible to all students. In addition to music scholarships, all accepted students are considered for up to $124,000 in merit scholarships, and 97% of students receive financial aid assistance. Students should file the FAFSA to be considered for all financial aid options.
