The University of Dayton is a fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music. The music therapy degree is also approved by the American Music Therapy Association. Our music education degree is licensed by the State of Ohio.

Our department offers programs including a Bachelor of Music in music composition, music education, music performance and music therapy. We offer a Bachelor of Arts in Music with concentrations in jazz studies and music studies. Minors are offered in music and music technology. Auditions are required for admission to our B.M. programs.

Auditions and Admissions
Students who wish to be admitted into a Bachelor of Music degree program at the University of Dayton, and students interested in receiving a music scholarship (regardless of major) must complete an audition.
With over 40 gifted and dedicated artists, teachers and scholars, the University of Dayton's Department of Music provides the guidance to take you to the next level.
Commissioned in December 2023, with its first performances set for early 2024, the Roger Glass Center for the Arts will include a Concert Hall able to seat 386 guests. The musical performance space will be acoustically tuned to accommodate small ensembles, choral performances and full orchestras.
Our prestigious five-day programs for Voice, Brass and Jazz give high school-aged musicians the opportunity to study their craft with professionals in their field. The curriculum includes daily individual lessons, master classes, workshops and seminars, as well as a concluding concert open to family and friends.
