Arts and Sciences Cohort

Faculty Cohort Opportunities

Are you an academic looking for an opportunity to work in a community with a commitment to interdisciplinary research, anti-racist pedagogy and increasing curricular diversity?

The College of Arts and Sciences invites faculty applications in support of our interdisciplinary Race and Ethnic Studies program, including our existing minors and planned majors in Africana Studies and Latinx Studies, as well as our existing International Studies program minor in Middle Eastern Studies. The faculty also will have the opportunity to work with the College's diverse range of public-facing centers to help further the University mission of engaging local, national and global communities in culturally responsive and responsible ways.

Each faculty member will have a home in a humanities Department where they will have the opportunity to work closely with faculty who share a commitment to interdisciplinary research, anti-racist pedagogy and increasing curricular diversity. The humanities are currently home to interdisciplinary majors and minors including Race and Ethnic Studies, International Studies, Human Rights Studies, Sustainability, Women’s and Gender Studies and Disability Studies. The humanities faculty have played a central role in supporting the development of new minors that reflect the University’s commitment to social justice and to becoming the University for the Common Good. We are committed to building on existing faculty expertise in the areas of Africana, Latinx and Middle Eastern Studies to create expanded curricula in these areas, including new majors. The faculty hired in this cohort will receive interdisciplinary support and mentoring, as well as collaborating with other cohort members.
