Arts Events for Summer 2016

Note: While we make every effort to keep this listing up to date, event details are subject to change. All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Open parking is available in single-letter lots after 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, after 4:30 p.m. Friday and all day on the weekend. A parking permit is required at all other times and can be obtained at the main visitor center on University Circle or the parking booth at C Lot on Evanston Avenue. 

Living Glass: Sustaining Memory through Light

Vocal Performance Institute

June 23 - 27

The Vocal Performance Institute (VPI) is a five-day program presented each summer for students in grades 9 through 12. All activities are held on the historic UD main campus and instruction is provided by Department of Music faculty, along with professional guest artists from Dayton-area organizations including the Dayton Opera and the Human Race Theater. Learn more >>

Brighter Connections

July 16 - 17

Brighter Connections was formed in 2013 to help children with autism improve their social and behavioral skills through the therapeutic use of theater. The six-week summer program, open to ages 8-14, emphasizes children with autism, but anyone is welcome to participate. This summer, the University has partnered with the program, donating facilities, and faculty and student volunteers. There will be two public performances at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 16-17, at the Fitz Hall Black Box Theatre. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Learn more >>
