Serve in Music Ministry

Consider sharing your gifts of voice or instrument with the UD worshipping community. Every Sunday Mass and evening residence hall Mass has its own student-led choirs and instrumental musicians. If you're interested in joining a choir, speak to a student leader at that Mass or reach out to Campus Ministry.

Dayton Opera Apprentice Program

The Dayton Opera Apprentice program, started in 2013, is an innovative opportunity for students to expand horizons and gain experience in the field of vocal performance. Students are nominated by Department of Music voice faculty. They are required to audition and will receive written feedback from artistic director, Thomas Bankston and conductor and chorus master, Jeffrey Powell.

Students in the program enroll in the Dayton Opera Apprentice course and receive credit for their participation. The course consists of a research component, coachings, and participation in all rehearsals and performances of a Dayton Opera production. Apprentices also have an opportunity to participate in masterclasses with Dayton Opera's premier performers.
