What Can I Do with My Art and Design Degree?

Our faculty are dedicated to mentoring students, preparing them for the job market. Students explore a range of vocations within corporate and non-profit organizations and are encouraged to undertake Internships with local arts organizations, design firms and professional groups.

  • Art education students are prepared for graduate school or for entry into public or private P-12 school systems as teachers.
  • In fine arts, students are prepared to enter graduate school or practice as a professional artist.
  • Graphic design students are prepared for professional careers in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, graphic design firms, advertising agencies and new media and related technology companies.
  • In photography, students are prepared to enter graduate school or an aspect of commercial photography, which may include editorial or studio work.

Alumni enjoy success after college and are employed within the Midwest and across the nation at design firms, photography studios, galleries and academic institutions. Recent alums are now employed within each of the academic disciplines we offer.
