The University of Dayton’s Department of Risk Management & Insurance (RM&I) supports the University by promoting a risk-aware culture.  Using proactive consultation, risk assessment and the selection of optimal risk finance options, we have developed a comprehensive program that takes a systematic strategic approach to minimizing exposure to risk.

Through the risk assessment process, we identify and evaluate risk to the University and develop efficient and financially responsible ways to manage those risks.  Part of that strategy includes purchasing of insurance and self-insurance to address a variety of exposures as well as identify alternative methods to managing risks.
