Leadership in Service Scholarship
Help Your Students Soar
At the University of Dayton, students are challenged to connect learning and scholarship with leadership and service. It’s part of our Catholic, Marianist educational philosophy.
To honor this tradition, we award Leadership in Service scholarships to students who have an innate desire for personal development and are committed to service within their school, church or community. First year students must be nominated by November 1, 2024.
In addition to receiving a Leadership in Service scholarship, worth up to $2,500 per year over four years, recipients will have opportunities to continue developing leadership skills and service to others, like leadership conferences and on-campus leadership activities and organizations.
By applying to UD, students are also eligible for additional scholarships, including merit scholarships up to $33,000 per year for four years.

Important Update: This will be the final year that we invite school counselors to nominate students for the Leadership in Service Award. Starting next year, nominations will be made by the University of Dayton Recruitment and Admission team. We encourage you to take this opportunity to recognize students who would thrive as servant-leaders within our community.
Counselors who submitted nominations last year received emails inviting them to nominate up to two students entering in fall 2025. Nominations must be submitted by Nov. 1, 2024. Students must also apply for admission to the University of Dayton for consideration. To help ensure nominations are associated with the correct students, please nominate with the email address the student used (or will use) on their admission application, if possible.
