Transfer Application Steps

Students who have attempted any college-level course after graduating from high school are considered transfer applicants.  College Credit Plus (CCP) and high school dual enrollment students are not considered transfer applicants.

To begin the transfer application process, please follow these simple steps:

1.  Apply Online - You may submit UD's application, the Common Application, or the Coalition Application.

2. Request and submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities that you've attended to the Office of Admission and Financial Aid.

3.  Request and submit your official high school transcript to the Office of Admission and Financial Aid.

Note: Transcripts must be mailed directly from the institution or high school or submitted by institutions who subscribe to a secure submission service.  Hand-carried transcripts, official copies marked Issued to Student, or unofficial copies are not acceptable.

4.  Request and submit additional documents as required:

  • Personal statement
  • Joint Services Transcript (JST) if you have served or are serving in the U.S. armed forces
  • Official AP, CLEP, and IB score reports if you have taken any of the exams
  • Official IELTSTOEFLor Pearson Test of English results as evidence of English language skills for students whose native language is not English.  This is required of international students issued immigrant visas, international students transferring from another American college or university, those (with English as a foreign language) from U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico, and any other U.S. citizen or non-citizen whose native language is not English.

*The Office of Admission and Financial Aid may request ACT/SAT scores of any applicant.
