Professional and Continuing Education

Academic Enrichment Studies

Academic Enrichment Studies offers you the flexibility to take courses of interest to you at a discounted rate without dedicating yourself to a degree program.

If you are a transient student (someone enrolled as a degree candidate at another institution), you can request to take a course on the University of Dayton's campus or via distance learning through Academic Enrichment Studies. You must be in good academic standing at your home institution. Before your registration request is processed you must complete the Guest Student Certification form and return it to Special Programs and Continuing Education. It's wise to check with your dean before registering to ensure your home institution will grant credit for a course taken at UD.

Affordability

All of our professional and continuing education programs are specifically designed to help you achieve your individual educational goals as a nontraditional, part-time student. Academic Enrichment Studies allows you to take classes at a discounted rate, making an already affordable education easier to manage financially.

The cost per credit hour for classes taken through Academic Enrichment Studies is discounted 40 percent off the regular undergraduate tuition rate. Whether you take one class at a time or several classes in one semester, the cost per credit hour is the same.

Apply and Register

There is no application process for Academic Enrichment Studies. To study through this program, you must simply register for classes following the steps below. Please note these steps only apply to students in the Academic Enrichment Studies program. Currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students should follow the registration process in Porches.

Check the catalog for classes of interest. Remember the code and title of any classes in which you would like to enroll.

Visit the dynamic schedule and enter your class(es) of interest to verify they are available for the upcoming term. Note which section of the class you wish to take. If you are a Transient Student visiting from another college or university, complete and return the Guest Student Certification Form.

Register for your desired class(es) by completing the online registration form.

You will need the course code, section number and title (which are found in step 2) to complete the form. It may be helpful to have the dynamic schedule available while completing the registration form.

You will receive confirmation of your registration via e-mail once your request has been processed.

Registration Begins on the Following Dates:

  • Fall: August 1
  • Spring: December 3
  • Summer: April 15

Should you change your registration after the semester begins please review our refund policy.
