The Full UD Experience
The Cobb Family Scholarship
Hometown Heroes
Over the years, Steve ’86 and Molly ’83 Cobb have been more than supporters of the University of Dayton. They have been partners, contributing generous funding to numerous academic and athletic projects and programs, and offering time and expertise during Steve’s service on the board of trustees. And they continue their support through the Cobb Family Scholarship, which provides full tuition, as well as room and board if deemed necessary, to two high-achieving students with ties to Eaton, Ohio.
This scholarship marries the Cobbs’ support of the University of Dayton with their dedication to the Dayton-area town of Eaton, home of Henny Penny Corporation, a company where Steve’s father, Jack, served as president and CEO for over two decades. Steve followed in his stead, and he has done much for Eaton during his time at the helm, including growing the company dramatically and selling it to his employees, giving them a vested interest in its success, and ensuring the company’s future in Eaton.
In regard to their choice to establish such an impactful scholarship, Steve said, "The University of Dayton education is intentionally transformative due to the experiential methodology of the four-year degree... Molly and I wanted to ensure that we spread that opportunity to students with a connection to Eaton, Ohio. The University is determined to help with expanding the ease of access to this special learning environment to all regions and cultures of the world, and we wanted to do our small part to include two deserving students in this strategic effort of providing higher education opportunities to others."
