Vision and Mission
The vision of the Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) team at the University of Dayton is to advance the reputation of the University of Dayton and optimize University opportunities for support from corporations and foundations.
The mission of the CFR team is to facilitate and strengthen mutually beneficial strategic corporate and private foundation partnerships for the University of Dayton locally, nationally and internationally.
Goals
The CFR team's long-term goals include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Increase private giving from corporations and private foundations.
- Develop new and deepen existing corporate and private foundation relationships.
- Serve as a catalyst for a more robust institutional culture of grant-seeking.
- Elevate the external reputation of the University of Dayton to a national and global audience.
Services and Structure
The Corporate and Foundation Relations team can provide resources and advisement to create strong inquiries and proposals to private foundations and corporations. We can help you identify areas of opportunity for your program or project to prepare for funding, identify funding prospects with supporting research, provide proposal and inquiry editing assistance, and advise proposal positioning from a funder’s perspective to help increase your proposal’s success.
The CFR team also provides University historical information about relationships with funders and insights gleaned from past interactions and/or proposals and assists in obtaining University documentation and signatures. We can manage external communications based on research, strategy and experience, which may include connecting University senior leadership with select national foundations. We facilitate gift recognition and stewardship opportunities, and we organize and host corporate and foundation campus visits.
The CFR team can also act as a liaison across the University on behalf of your request. We help manage your proposal or formal inquiry so that you have a team behind you, ensuring that your proposal is optimally positioned for success.
CFR is part of University Advancement and functions under the leadership of the assistant vice president of Advancement and the vice president of Advancement. We work on priorities as designated by the president, trustees, provost and deans of the academic units.
For more information on how our CFR can assist you, please refer to our FAQ page.
