Reunion Weekend FAQs

Reunion Weekend is one of the most anticipated weekends of the year, welcoming thousands of alumni home to campus. Here are some quick answers to your most frequently asked questions.

Planning and Registration

Reunion Weekend 2025 is June 6-8.


The classes celebrating a reunion this coming summer are the Golden Flyers, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2020.


If you are celebrating a milestone reunion in 2025, registration materials for Reunion Weekend will be sent mid to late February. If you are not part of a milestone reunion year but would still like to attend, please email the Alumni Relations office at reunion@udayton.edu to be included in this year’s emails and mailings.


Registration materials will arrive by mid to late February. Online registration for on-campus housing and events will open late March. Look around the reunion overview page for all the complete details on events and on-campus housing or email reunion@udayton.edu with questions.


Events

Check-in and ticket pickup will be on campus starting Friday at 10 a.m. in Kennedy Union Torch Lounge. You must pick up your tickets or register for events here. Credit cards will be accepted. Please note, you will not be able to pay at the entrance of the events.

Yes, you can register on-site for events. You must come see us in the Kennedy Union Torch Lounge to do so. Although we do allow for on-site registration, we ask that you try to preregister because we want to be sure to order enough food and drinks for everyone. Please note that, if you plan on registering for events the week of Reunion Weekend, the cost will increase to $55 per event.

Check-in and ticket pickup will be on-campus in Kennedy Union Torch Lounge. You must pick up your tickets or register for events here. Credit cards will be accepted. You will not be able to pay at the entrance of the events.

Friday: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 6: p.m.

Come early to avoid long lines at check-in. You do not need to wait until right before the Friday night class parties to check in. Lines tend to be longer at that time.


A list of Reunion Weekend attendees will be available on the Reunion web portal in April.


Friday and Saturday events are casual. Please keep in mind that the ever-changing summer Dayton weather could be chilly and raining one minute then hot and humid the next.


Stop by the Welcome Center in the Kennedy Union lobby (1st floor) for complimentary water, soda and light snacks provided by the UD Alumni Association. Available Friday noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is also a great meeting spot for your friends. Or check out the Emporium in Marianist Hall open 24/7 with it's new Just Walk Out technology. Need a little more food? Kennedy Union also offers Au Bon Pain for an additional option.

Friday

  • Friday night class parties (various locations on campus): Heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks are included in the cost of the event — registration required.

Saturday

  • Au Bon Pain (Kennedy Union lobby, first floor): 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. — pay-as-you-go.
  • Heritage Coffeehouse: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. — pay-as-you-go
  • Welcome Center (Kennedy Union Lobby, first floor): 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., snacks, water, soda and coffee — free.
  • Flyer Food Truck Rally (KU Central Mall): 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. — pay-as-you-go.
  • Emporium (Marianist Hall, first floor): Open 24/7 with Just Walk Out Technology.
  • Porch Party: 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. — food and drinks are included in the cost of the event — registration required.

 

Sunday

  • Au Bon Pain (Kennedy Union lobby, first floor): 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. — pay-as-you-go.
  • Emporium (Marianist Hall, first floor): Open 24/7 with Just Walk Out Technology.

Housing and Transportation

Yes, on-campus housing is available. On-campus housing must be reserved through online registration. On-campus housing registration will go live in March.


All parking lots on campus will be available to Reunion Weekend attendees Thursday, June 5 to Sunday, June 8. No parking pass is needed and no tickets will be issued as long as you are parking in a valid parking spot.

The University will not be running a shuttle to and from the airport. If you are staying at one of the local hotels, please contact them to see if you can arrange transportation or visit the Dayton International Airport website.

Shuttle service in and around campus will be available. More information will be available closer to the event.


Yes, we will have UD students driving golf carts around campus during the weekend. While anyone can get a ride in a golf cart, we will give priority to those that need assistance getting from place to place on campus.

Golf carts will be run Friday from 1 to 10:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Please note: No alcohol is allowed on the carts. Please do not overload the carts. All carts must stay within the campus zone (they cannot take you to your favorite off-campus establishment).


Parking of recreational/camper vehicles on campus property is prohibited.

There are charging stations located in front of St. Joseph Hall by the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, in the visitor section at Fitz Hall, and also in B Lot (near the library and Miriam Hall). 


Yes, there is a shuttle that runs from both the Marriott at the University of Dayton and the Courtyard Marriott on Edwin C. Moses Blvd. to campus and back. This shuttle runs from 9 a.m.–1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. The pickup and drop-off location is at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, except for during/after the Porch Party on Saturday when the location will be near the entrance to the Porch Party.

Refunds

For event tickets and housing, partial and full refunds are available on or before Friday, May 23, 2025 by sending your request via email to reunion@udayton.edu. Following this date, no refunds will be given as we need to confirm food, beverages and seating.

If you still plan on attending Reunion Weekend but need to change or add an event, you may do so by going back to your online registration. Please note that event costs will go up by $10 per event if you are registering on or after May 30.

Please note: Upon checking out of your on-campus housing room, you will be asked to return all keys and/or access cards to the front desk. If you fail to return all keys, you will be charged a $125 lock-change charge. Failure to return an access card will result in a $20 charge. This is a safety issue for future guests and students. Please be aware of this and hang on to and return your room keys!

By choosing to stay in an on-campus room, you will be responsible for any damages to the room during your stay. Your card will be charged for the full amount of damages.


Additional Information

Yes! The RecPlex, UD's fitness and recreation complex, will be open during Reunion Weekend. We are offering all Reunion Weekend attendees free use of the facility throughout the whole weekend. Stop by at any time with a photo ID and let them know that you are here for Reunion Weekend! For more information visit Campus Recreation.

Yes! Wireless access will be available to all attendees. When you arrive on campus that weekend, go to your Wi-Fi connection settings and choose "UDwireless" or "UDConnect."

Find the "Visitors: Connect to UDwireless" section and click on "Register for guest network access."

Follow the prompts to set up your temporary account. You will receive a network password good for 16 hours that is renewable up to four times.

After connecting to the wireless network your browser should automatically open up the Wifi connection page. If it does not automatically pop up, you can go to logoff.udayton.edu while connected to "UD connect" wireless, and you should then be able to see the guest network option.


Visit either the Bookstore in Marianist Hall or Flyer Spirit on Brown Street. Don't forget that alumni receive a 10% discount.

Hours for the weekend are:

  • Bookstore: Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Flyer Spirit: Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Flyer'd Up (located at arena): Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Have fun during Reunion Weekend, but please be safe and smart.

 

Thinking about trying to get back into your old house? Don’t.

  • Breaking and entering is illegal and violators will be held accountable – this could include arrest.

Ohio law bans open containers of alcohol in public places, such as sidewalks.

  • Ohio’s ban on open containers in vehicles applies to the student-driven golf carts that are available to help you get around campus.

Dayton City Commission passed Section 137.23 of the Revised Code of General Ordinances Regarding Nuisance Parties and Declaring an Emergency February 2024 which holds responsible owners, occupants and anyone present at a disorderly gathering in a residence or other venue within the city of Dayton.

  • The following illegal offenses can lead to arrest: open container; outdoor urination or defecation in a public place; sale or furnishing of alcohol to an underage person; illegal use of a controlled substance; public indecency; the damage or destruction of property; standing or parking of vehicles that obstructs the free flow of traffic on the public streets and sidewalks or that impedes the ability to render emergency services; unlawfully loud noise; etc. 
  • A party or social gathering that is or becomes a nuisance party shall cease upon the order of the police; and all persons not residing at the site must leave the premises immediately. Any person who fails or refuses to abide by such an order will be arrested.

No, there will not be childcare available during Reunion Weekend.


Yes, most campus entities are cashless, including dining options.


Yes, there are several. Most of the lactation rooms are access-controlled through card readers, so faculty, staff, students and guests must contact the Women’s Center at 937-229-5390 or by emailing caregiving@udayton.edu prior to arrival to ensure access. Learn more about the lactation rooms.
