Kessler Scholars Program
Application and Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Kessler Scholars Program for the UD Sinclair Academy, students must apply to the UD Sinclair Academy by February 1.
Applicants must meet UD’s undergraduate admission requirements for entering first-year students, as well as submit:
- Official high school completion document.
- Official college transcripts for credit earned from College Credit Plus or Dual Enrollment, if applicable.
- Official AP, CLEP and IB score reports, if applicable.
- Official ACT or SAT test score, if desired; UD is test-optional in admission.
There is no fee to apply to the UD Sinclair Academy.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be entering the UD Sinclair Academy as first-generation college students.
- Applicants must be current high school seniors or graduates within the last three years.
- Applicants must not be currently enrolled at Sinclair or another college.
- To be eligible, families must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have a total family income (including the income of noncustodial parents) of $50,000 or less and be Pell-eligible. The FAFSA deadline is February 1.
- For students whose parents are divorced or separated, completion of a noncustodial parent form is required. The noncustodial parent form will be provided if needed once all other eligibility criteria are met.
Selection Process
- Students who are accepted to the UD Sinclair Academy and eligible for the Kessler Scholars Program will receive a consideration letter, inviting them to participate in an interview. We will work with students and their schools to schedule interviews.
- Students who are selected for the program must confirm their enrollment by June 1.
- Kessler Scholars are required to participate in the Kessler Scholars Summer Bridge Program and other Kessler Scholars-related programming throughout their college experience.
