Application Process

Application Steps

Students can apply to the UD Sinclair Academy as a first-year or transfer student.  The most important part of the application process is selecting your pathway major before applying.

Two basic application steps for the UD Sinclair Academy are:

  1. Apply to the UD Sinclair Academy through UD.
  2. Apply to Sinclair College being admitted to UD (current Sinclair students including College Credit Plus students will not have to reapply to Sinclair).

UD Application Process

To begin the UD portion of the UD Sinclair Academy application process, please follow these simple steps:

1.  Apply online.

2. Request and submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities that you've attended to the Office of Admission and Financial Aid.
(Note: UD will be able to request your Sinclair transcript if you are a current Sinclair student.)

3. Request and submit your official high school transcript or equivalent to the Office of Admission and Financial Aid.

Note: Transcripts must be mailed directly from the institution or high school or submitted by institutions who subscribe to a secure submission service.  Hand-carried transcripts, official copies marked Issued to Student, or unofficial copies are not acceptable.

4. Request and submit additional documents as required*:

  • Official ACT or SAT test score (only for first-year applicants, and only if desired, as UD is test-optional in admission for the fall 2021 entering class and beyond)
  • Joint Services Transcript (JST) if you have served or are serving in the U.S. armed forces
  • Official AP, CLEP, and IB score reports if you have taken any of the exams

*Minimum of 15 hours in pathway major coursework and a 3.0 GPA are required for admission into the Academy.  This includes students currently enrolled at Sinclair. Sinclair College Credit Plus (CCP) students should apply as a first-year student, and your high school academic profile and ACT/SAT scores will be used for admission purposes.

*For additional application materials for International transfer students, visit the International Undergraduate Admission website.

Institutions can mail official paper documentation, including transcripts, to:
