In keeping with its Catholic and Marianist traditions, the Division of Student Development is committed to the growth and development of those working within our Division as reflected in our critical leadership competency of developing professional and technical skills. We believe professional development is essential to the continual development and learning as persons of a Marianist Institution. Sharing of knowledge, expansion of skills, and the stimulation of thoughts and ideas result through professional development. We are a staff learning community in service of our student learning community.
Learning and Development
Through its own training/education programs and by funding other continuing education programs offered on campus, Learning & Development supports and encourages employees in their career development activities, including skills training and professional development.
Our commitment to fostering an environment of outstanding performance and lifelong learning is found in the Learning & Development Policy in the Policies & Procedures handbook.
The Office of Human Resources provides training/education on University-specific policies and procedures as well as skills training for administrative support positions and general topics of interest. Many of the opportunities offered may be found by accessing the Two Year Core Program Schedule (pdf) which is mapped against the UD Leadership Competencies (xls).
Sexual harassment prevention training is available on-line for faculty, supervisors and non-supervisory staff. For more information, click on Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.
Human resources also offers an exciting opportunity for non exempt employees to be accepted into a multi-session information and networking program, UD Connections. This opportunity is similar to the cohort program for exempt employees, Leadership UD.
