Volunteer in Appalachia this summer!

Christian Appalachian Project, a non-profit oragnization serving people in need in eastern Kentucky, is seeking volunteers to serve as counselors, lifeguards, arts & crafts instructors, and office helpers for two summer camps serving children from low-income families. Volunteers serve 3-8 weeks and room and board is provided. An AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,175 is available for individuals who are accepted for a commitment of 7-8 weeks. I.H.O.P. Intense Hour of Praise

IHOP consists of an hour of praise and worship songs, scripture readings and prayers, followed by pancakes in Liberty Hall Rom 08. IHOP is also seeking musicians. Leave-taking Sunday Masses

We are planning two opportunities at Sunday Masses to bless the UD community’s leave-taking of our beloved Chapel. Please join us in prayer as we mark the transition from the Immaculate Conception Chapel into temporary space on campus, where we will worship until August 2015.

End of Year Move-Out: Collection/Recycling Drive

Join us in re-using, recycling, and/or donating everything you no longer want! Look for bins in residence halls and information in the neighborhood! We could also use YOUR HELP to collect & sort non-perishable food, clothing, school supplies, & small household items to be donated to UDSAP, St. Vincent de Paul, and Catholic Social Services Refugee Resettlement. UDI 383: Hunger and Homelessness Minicourse

Be a leader for Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. Register for the Hunger and Homelessness Mini Course UDI 383.

Students who register for this class will have the opportunity to educate the UD community on issues of hunger and homelessness and encourage people to take action on hunger and homelessness. Students who take this class will lead in the planning for Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and will help plan and develop service projects, reflection opportunities, advocacy events and will help with the fundraising and planning of the Thanksgiving Food Baskets. The class will meet once a week on Wednesday nights from 8:00pm-9:30pm at Liberty Hall room 01.

UGMM (Undergraduate Music Minister)

Positions for 2014-15

Applications are now being accepted, from rising sophomores and above, for Catholic musicians interested in serving in this exciting area of liturgical ministry on campus. UGMM’s also take a FREE 1 credit class each semester to deepen their understanding and love of the liturgy. Applications are available from any of the current UGMM’s after Mass, in the main office of Liberty Hall or as an email attachment from Jim Pera, jpera1@udayton.edu. Come, help us raise a joyful noise unto the Lord!

Are you a Baptized Catholic who desires to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation? You may prepare to complete your initiation into the Catholic faith while here at UD. The schedule is simple and flexible and designed to deepen your understanding of the faith and your experience of the Holy Spirit. Living With Loss

LWL is a confidential support group for undergraduate and graduate students who have experienced the death of someone close to them. The death may be recent or one that occurred several years ago. The group meets for one hour, once a week, time determined by the schedules of those desiring to participate.
