Philosophy explores the rational basis of other areas of inquiry such as science, social science, politics and religion. Philosophy facilitates the development of skills in constructing and analyzing arguments, in reading and writing critically and with precision, and in approaching problems imaginatively and reflectively. Because of it's relationship to other areas of study, a minor in philosophy fits well with any major offered at the University of Dayton. The minor consists of 18 semester hours.
