International Academic Programs

Internationalizing your education begins in the classroom. All undergraduate students, regardless of major, are encouraged to take courses that introduce you to new global perspectives. For those with an especially strong interest in globalization and the world around us, consider majoring or minoring in one of the programs below.

International Business Program

The international business program offers a multidisciplinary education in the context of the global business environment. Students may combine the major with another business program, or focus on a speciality by obtaining a minor in a language and taking courses in the history and culture of the area. Certificates in international business are available for non-business students with an emphasis in either marketing and human resources or economics and finance. A minor in international business is also available.

International Studies Program

The International Studies program is a multidisciplinary major within the College of Arts & Science that's designed for students interested in acquiring a broad-based international perspective. The curriculum includes courses in economics, history, political science, foreign language study, and a choice among a variety of concentrations. An international and/or cross-cultural experience is required. Minors are available in either international studies or human rights.

Global Languages & Cultures

The Department of Global Languages & Cultures at the University of Dayton's College of Arts & Sciences offers majors and minors in the modern languages — French, German and Spanish — as well as instruction in Arabic, Italian, Latin, Mandarin Chinese and, occasionally, beginning and intermediate Russian. Courses offered in the Department of Languages include language skill courses, linguistics, and literature and culture courses.
