A cataloging assistant in the Zimmerman Law Library and School of Law staff member since 1997, Diane Wurst catalogs new titles, maintains the law library bibliographic database, which includes researching, editing and downloading the bibliographic records for all new acquisitions. She also trains and supervises student cataloging assistants.
Diane, who has 20 years of library experience, previously worked in the circulation department at the Wright Memorial Public Library. She said the opportunity to work behind the scenes at a library attracted her to the University of Dayton, but her favorite aspect of her job is being around the people with whom she works.
Ms. Wurst attended the University of Dayton and Dayton Art Institute as a fine arts student. At that time, the Dayton Art Institute School of Art served as the art department for the University of Dayton. She has an extensive background in art. Ms. Wurst worked as a fashion illustrator for Rike’s department store in downtown Dayton and as a cartographer for the City of Dayton before later starting an architectural illustration business in Indianapolis with her husband.
