Profile

Nicky Adams is a full-time lecturer in English, teaching professional communication courses and coordinating the department’s Writing Internship Program. She began her teaching career at Centerville High School in 1988, after earning her B.S. in Education from Miami University. She completed her M.A. in English with a concentration in Communication Studies at Wright State, where she also directed the University Writing Center for five years and taught composition and business communication courses. Before joining UD, Nicky was in the Workforce Development and Corporate Services Division of Sinclair Community College, where she consulted with area businesses to assess training and development needs and implement related programs for their employees. 

Nicky also conducts corporate training on professional communication topics for the Center for Leadership & Executive Development and Learning & Organizational Development at UD, as well as for a variety of organizations in the Dayton area. She is also a contributing writer to Editorial Office News, an international publication for the Society of Managing & Technical Editors.
