Ranger Challenge is an elite Cadet competition within Army ROTC. The competition is focused on leadership development through physically demanding and mentally challenging events, centered on basic infantry skills. Squad-sized teams compete against other schools within 7th Brigade at Fort Knox, Kentucky on their abilities in rifle marksmanship, constructing a one rope-bridge, patrolling, hand grenade assault course, assembly and disassembly of the m16A2, the Army Physical Fitness Test, land navigation, and a 10 Kilometer road march. The competition takes place in the fall and all Cadets in good academic standing are encouraged to participate. Ranger Challenge Cadets conduct physical training five times a week and prepare for the various events most evenings-in order to win the competition.
