Slavery by Another Name is about the huge system of forced, unpaid labor, mostly affecting Southern black men, that lasted until World War II. Facilitated discussion of Slavery by Another Name will take place February 18, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in ArtStreet Studio B, led by Dr. Verb Washington, Lecturer, Department of History.

This film is part of a series of screenings, lectures, discussion forums and scholarly presentations given by the University Libraries which center on four documentaries with riveting new footage illustrating the history of civil rights in America. The Created Equal film series is made possible through a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, as part of its Bridging Cultures initiative, in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.

Presentation of Slavery by Another Name is also supported in part by Rosewood Arts Centre, a division of the City of Kettering's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts department.

This event is free and open to the public. Visitors must stop at the parking booth off of Founders Lane and ask for a "Created Equal" event parking pass.
