PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.
IT ALSO MAKES BETTER LAWYERS.
An education at the University of Dayton School of Law begins with our belief in what a lawyer is: someone who solves problems, whether they are the problems of a person, a family, an organization or even society at large. By equally applying a broad base of legal knowledge, extensive practical experience and professional values to the cause of helping others, our graduates have the ability to distinguish themselves in their careers while making an impact upon the world.
We also understand that every student has unique needs, talents and goals. That's why our academic calendar is designed to provide a flexible academic calendar. That means you can graduate in two years — or jump start your legal studies early under our summer-start option.
NEW TIMES. NEW METHODS.
At the University of Dayton, we pride ourselves on reading the signs of the times and preparing our students for the world they'll face. It's part of our timeless, Catholic Marianist philosophy.
It's why we were the first in the nation to offer an accelerated, two-year option that allows you to earn your law degree, pass the bar and start practicing law before your peers. (And you save a year's worth of living expenses.) Our curriculum couples a rigorous classroom experience with clinics and externships.
The world definitely needs more of our kind of lawyers — those who can practice law and promote justice. We attract leaders who want to serve.
I invite you to learn more about the forward-thinking education you will receive at the University of Dayton School of Law.
Paul E. McGreal
A University of Dayton law education begins with our strong belief in what a lawyer is: a problem solver. At the University of Dayton School of Law, we prepare our graduates to be lawyers who can solve problems, whether they are the problems of a person, a family an organization or even society at large.
We pride ourselves on creating well-rounded lawyers immersed in all aspects of the law. Here, you'll be exposed to the challenging classroom dialogues found throughout the nation's top law schools. But more importantly, you will be expected to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world problems through capstone courses, externships and live-client clinics. It is this balance of theory and practice that gives our graduates uncommon knowledge and rare distinction.
